It's 2010 now and Valentines Day is just around the corner! Is it just me or are there more people getting engaged and married during these tougher economic times? I fully expect that this Valentines Day is going to top many past years in the number of engagements. Suncoast Wedding Planner has been crazy for the last month or so. We are beginning an interview process for additional vendors now. We have several vendors listed in our BizLinks directory but with so many new businesses popping up we feel that it is only right to give some of these vendors an opportunity to be listed on our site. We don't accept just anybody, in fact in the past it was by invitation only and only after we have had several personal experiences with the vendor.
We are currently hiring 2 positions here at Suncoast Wedding Planner. We are hiring a Sales Manager and a site moderator. If you have sales experience please send us your resume. If you are a wedding vendor in the St. Petersburg, Tampa or Sarasota area please let us know.
We have updated our BizLinks pages with some new vendors and removed some that have had to give up on their dream due to the economic times we are in. This is the first time in 4 years that we have had to remove vendors, luckily there were only a few. One has been in business since 1967!
The Suncoast Wedding Planner (SWP) website provides brides, grooms and their families with a complete wedding planner resource. We provide you with a wedding vendor listing, the Suncoast Wedding Directory, a list of companies that we have encountered ourselves and that we recommend to our visitors. The Wedding Vendor Listing includes businesses in all aspects of wedding day activities, from accomodations for your guests to your destination wedding photographer.
Through years of experience and our industry contacts we have assembled our new BIZLink Directory. This directory contains a brief description of the business as well as their services provided and contact information.
For the Spring 2010 our Featured Sarasota Wedding Photographer Tim Macking from Kijiji Weddings will be offering exclusive engagement Portrait sessions in the Siesta Key and Longboat Key area of Sarasota. His work as a premier Sarasota wedding photographer is incredible and his prices are still affordable for professional photography!
- We are still excited about the "word of Mouth restaurant" in Sarasota receives my vote as the best of the best in Sarasota!
- Last month I picked the Engagement photo session at the Vinoy in St. Petersburg!
- DJ Chill Will has taken it up a notch, his rates are reasonable and he is a DJ with class!
- We've heard some good things about Maxin Fruit Farms in Bradenton. Even with their big snake, weddings here are really nice.
- If you're looking for a sunset beach wedding then look no further than the Don Cesar in St. Petersburg, another five star show!

January 16, 2010 - From what I'm told there is a new Selby Gardens wedding Photographer in town and they are here to stay. Selby Garden, The Ca D Zan and many other Sarasota locations have been experiencing a better wedding season over the summer than they anticipated. Word of Mouth in Sarasota has been referred to us numerous times as the Reception location to die for, especially for smaller destination weddings. Just some food for thought :-)
December 13th,2009 - Sarasota and Bradenton Wedding Vendors have been contacting us over the last week or so and it seems that they have had an ever increasing flow of request for wedding services. Sarasota Wedding Dress provider, Davids Bridal says that sales are on the rise too. Access to limousine services for Sarasota & Bradenton area weddings seems to have hit a lul, they just don't have the requests like they did a year ago. Local photographer Don Cesar Weddings says that he is seeing 3 to 4 weddings a day at the Don. There are a lot of weddings over the next few months and it seems like every Sarasota Wedding Photographer I spoke to is booked. Though our latest photographer 1Stop Studio seems to have a fairly open schedule.
November 30th, 2009 - Things have been hectic for all of the wedding vendors for the last few months. While many people are quick to complain about the economy I have come accross more people here lately who say things couldn't get too much better. Many St. Petersburg and Bradenton Photographers are booked for all dates through October! I spoke with a friend at a bakery in Sarasota, she's swamped with wedding cake orders. I attended a wedding in Tampa last Saturday and the wedding vendors I spoke with said that they have been staying busy with their wedding and event schedules. The Wedding DJ's all seem to be booked up too!
October 21st, 2009 - We will be featuring our Sarasota Wedding Planner portion of our website injust a few weeks. Keep checking back. This past weekend seemed like the busiest wedding weekend I've seen in a while. I know of at least 70 weddings that took place on Saturday, the locations of choice? Clearwater beach weddings are on the rise with Sand Key Weddings taking the "cake". Bradenton bridal portraits were coming along well throughout the Bradenton Beach area. My Hollis Garden Photographer Tim Macking said that things have been crazy in the Lakeland Photography Business over the last few weeks. Some nice Ca D' Zan weddings are coming up in the next week or two, some big, some small, all very nice. You can't beat the look of a Ca D' Zan wedding!
August 11th, 2009 - With fall coming soon and winter quickly approaching (who are we kidding, there is no winter in Florida) we have noticed a huge increase in the number of weddings being booked in the Florida Suncoast area over the last few weeks. There is a significant increase in the number of destination and beach weddings along with sunset weddings. They are all absolutely gorgeous! Please keep in mind that the more time you have to plan your event the better chance you have at it being a success. If you have a wedding before February 2009, you need to be in touch with your vendors and get contracts signed asap! Wedding reception locations and caterers seem to be filling up very quickly. I spoke with a Sarasota Wedding photographer who is booked every weekend through the end of December and the prices are not going down. Yesterday at a Bradenton Beach wedding I spoke with a Clearwater wedding planner who said that she has been booked for quite some time and that she is getting calls for weddings next summer already! The prime wedding locations like Sand Key, Hollis Garden Weddings, Siesta Key and Sand Key in Clearwater seem to be booking up too. Remember, the more time you spend planning your event is directly proportional to the success.
June 19th, 2009 - When you are looking for the most beautiful wedding location in the Sarasota area look no further than the Ca D' Zan. Located at 5401 Bay Shore Road just north of downtown Sarasota the Ca D' Zan is a 5 Star wedding location. Ca D' Zan wedding photographers absolutely love the facilities as they offer great location for bridal photo shoots and wedding pictures with the water as the backdrop. If you haven't booked your wedding their for the fall, forget about even trying! Of course, if that is the case then give a call to the Sarasota Classic Car Museum :-) No kidding, it's another great sarasota wedding venue.
